While numerous theologies of renewal are advanced, conspicuously absent is any serious erudition of the text taken by Paul VI, John Paul II, and Benedict XVI as the hermeneutical key to understanding the Councils goal and method, namely, Paul VIs encyclical, Ecclesiam Suam.
