Description of
The Drifter (A Peter Ash Novel Book 1)
I ran across the sequel to this book first and took a picture of it so I would remember to look it up when I had more money. Later I needed a book to read at the gym so I looked up the book I photographed and learned about this one. I believe in starting series at the beginning so I downloaded this book to my Kindle and read it in 2 days. Normally I am a slow reader. I usually take a week to finish a book. I tried reading Sanford novels but decided I didn't like being that tense all the time. This book is a nice balance of suspense, action and character development. I really like to feel like I know the characters and Nick Petrie does an excellent job of giving the reader enough information about the characters to have a clear idea of just who the characters are. When I finished The Drifter in two days I thought, "I can't afford a new book every two days!" I finally couldn't resist and downloaded the sequel as well, but I made a rule to slow me down. I could only read the book while I was on the treadmill. So far I have logged 12 miles. I am lucky the gym doesn't mind me walking for an hour straight. These books really hold my attention and usually I am slightly ADD. I would recommend this book to anybody who reads this genre.
