Description of
The Romanov Ransom: Fargo Adventures #9
The reliable Clive Cussler formula...one or more historic incidents, real or contrived, modern drama, then all's well that end's well. Like Saturday morning episodes at the matinee. Except, it's Clive Cussler, and the trip from Point A to Point B (by way of Points C, D, E, etc) is always exciting with unexpected plot twists. And, they are all page turners that are hard to put down to get some sleep. The theme of a rising Fourth Reich is an attention-keeper. The Fargos have had so many confrontations in previous stories they even have to go to the old play book to pull out and re-use strategies from past adventures. And if you don't catch on quickly when the author's cameo appearance occurs with one of his classic autos, shame on you! It's all delightfully formulaic. I might take one-half of a style point away, however, the grand finale seems a little limp to the fast action throughout the rest of the story. But it's Clive Cussler, what's not to love?
