Those of us who love small town American values and are not judgmental about babies conceived out of wedlock, will enjoy the book and beginning series, "A Baby of Her Own". The Author, Brenda Novak, brings us a story of a beautiful, slightly lonely, virgin librarian who foolishly seeks a stranger to unknowingly inseminate her. Yep, she wants a baby BAD Delaney comes to her senses, but not until after the deed is done! With her friend's encouragement, Delaney meets Conner in a bar. Now, this could be a mess, but Conner is gorgeous and experienced and gives Delaney a night to remember! There are lots of typical "small town type" characters, and some different and surprising ones. What happens between Conner and Melaney is sweet, warm, understandable, and sometimes sad. Both of their backstories are somewhat rough, so the feelings and thoughts they experience while dealing with the consequences of their actions say a lot about the way people handle diversity and challenges. This is a quick, lovely read, that will set the stage for reading more books about the interesting people of Dundee, Idaho!
