Description of  Saltwater and Driftwood: A Historical Novel

If you are reading this to learn about the 1900 hurricane that wiped out Galveston, that doesn't occur until the last third of the book. Most of this book describes the high society life of the Galveston elite. I almost put it down several times but I'm glad I didn't. The description of the storm and its total devastation for the totally unprepared people of Galveston is gut-wrenching. You can feel the rising water in the dark night and smell the salt in the air. No date is given for the current storyline but I hope the young girl and her mom weren't moving to the island only to get nailed again in 2017!
