Description of
Proteus
Written in 1979 by Morris West, author of The Devil's Advocate, and The Shoes of the Fisherman, this novel is a men's book, written for other men (although I very much enjoyed it as a woman). Proteus, a powerful, successful, and honorable businessman and family man is no doubt just the type of man most decent men aspire to be. Proteus heads a international conglomerate, and is secretly the head of the secret Proteus organization which works behind the scenes on "just causes" worldwide. What this book is really about is the question of how much power, what kind of power, and when power is justifed to be used for which purposes. I recommend it highly.
