Description of  A Clockwork Heart: Book Two in The Chronicles of Light and Shadow

I really liked A Conspiracy of Alchemists but I think Clockwork Heart takes it a step further! We see Elle and Marsh living "happily" ever after but then disaster is always on the horizon. Marsh is missing and then missing his heart, replaced with a ticking clock. Only Elle can find a way to save him. I think Ms. Schwarz did a wonderful job of creating a new zombie-like character one we've never seen before. We get to ride along Elle as she discovers more about herself and her powers while trying to save the man she loves. She remains loyal to her husband while still trying to maintain her independence.
