Description of
Hot Texas Sunrise (A Coldwater Texas Novel Book 2)
Judd is reluctant to help, as he is only one year sober, and this brings up a lot of bad memories about his brothers and himself in foster care. However, when he sees how badly the boys are being treated by their grandmother, who plans to put them into foster care anyway, he is willing to try to help. His brother, Kace, steps in to get custody, but the battle is just getting started as their grandmother is holding onto plots for revenge against Cleo. As Judd and Cleo spend time together, they find that the old feelings are still there and they are intensely attracted to each other. While their romance is the icing on the cake, the strongest part of the story is around the three boys and their path to security and home. The way the whole family comes together is just beautiful, and the storylines with the boys were just absolutely charming and lovely. While this book deals with some big issues such as child abuse (which made me want to cry) and alcoholism, it manages to infuse the story with some humor, hope, and joy. This is such a wonderful series, and I loved reading Judd and Cleo- but especially the three boys’ stories. I cannot wait for the next installment- this is ultimately a series infused with love- family, friend, and romantic.
