Description of
Hold Still
Lisa Regan ("Regan") is three-for-three. Once again Regan does not disappoint with her latest thriller "Hold Still," which is absolutely amazing. Regan delivers an intense, gritty, and suspenseful tale that flows smoothly, engaging the reader from beginning to end with an array of characters, all of whom are fleshed out the end result a well-written and engaging tale that is truly worth reading. From the very start Regan hooks you in as Detective Jocelyn Rush ("Rush") chases after a carjacker that still holds her daughter in the backseat of the car. From there it's a non-stop thrill-ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Regan again delivers a strong protagonist with Rush. She's smart, confident, honest, and tough, and can give as good as she gets. We also see the side of her, a loving and caring mother, and friend to the few she considers family at times revealing her vulnerability and sometimes rage at the injustices of the world, which unfortunately has just landed her in anger management classes. You'd think someone like Rush would be cocky and arrogant, but she's not which is why you can't help but love and cheer for her. I highly recommend this novel be read by those who love thrillers. And don't stop there. If you haven't read Regan's two previous novels, "Aberration" and "Finding Claire Fletcher," I highly suggest you read those as well. Congrats to Regan on another winner.
