Her Lone Wolf by Paige Tyler is the 2nd book in her X-Ops series. Her Lone Wolf focuses on Clayne, a wolf shifter and Danica a human. They have a history together and Danica broke his heart two years prior when she ended things in a way that left him bitter and disillusioned. It broke her heart too and she did it because she saw it as the only way to keep him safe. Danica is an agent with the FBI and they meet up again when Clayne comes to assist the FBI with a serial killer case. Both Danica and Clayne know that the killer isn’t human and they must work together to solve the case and keep the FBI from realizing that the killer is different. The attraction between Clayne and Danica is still burning strong and things quickly reach a boiling point. The question is, can they overcome the past to find their way to a future and can Danica risk Clayne finding out the truth? For she knows the truth will put him in the path of danger once again. I really enjoyed Her Lone Wolf. It’s a fast paced read, filled with action, suspense, romance, and danger. I found both the plot and the characters to be interesting and engaging. The romance is poignant and sexy. I liked reading along as Clayne and Danica found their way together again. The suspense was well done and had me turning the pages to find out what happens next. It’s a great addition to the series and I look forward to the next one.
