Description of  Street Freaks

This book was quite a departure for Terry Brooks. However, Shannara has incrementally brought more science into the landscape, and he did novelize The Phantom Menace, so he has worked with Sci-Fi a bit in the past. I am a big Brooks fan, so it won't come as a surprise that I liked the book, however, I did not expect to love it. As usual, the characters are fairly complex and well-realized. The environment is well-textured and interesting. The book literally starts with an explosive attack, then barely slows down. I would recommend this highly to any Brooks fan. If you are a fan of soft sci-fi, this is right up your alley as well. But it, and enjoy.
