Description of
Blowing on Dandelions (Love Blossoms in Oregon)
Katherine Galloway is a widow with two small daughters who struggles to provide for them by running a boardinghouse. Katherine found it difficult to find balance between being a widow, a business woman in a man's world in the 1880's and being a single mom. She didn't think things could get worse until her sister passed away and her mother came to live with her. As a child Katherine felt she never measured up to her mother's standards and was never given love. Her mother thought her daughter hated her, but couldn't understand what would cause her daughter feel that way. Through their journey, will they find resolution to their problems? Will she find love again? Will she continue to depend on God to show her how she should handle the situation with her mother? These are all questions that will be answered in the amazing journey as you turn the pages of this book. I felt Ms. Ferrell did a fabulous job of making the characters real. I fell in love with Katherine's character from the first page. If you have ever felt like you were not good enough in your parent's eyes, I think you will be surprised to see the situation from both points of view. I enjoyed how well she brought in using God as a source of strength and support without being overpowering. I would definitely recommend this book. It is filled with insecurity, loneliness, love, finding common ground in a difficult situation and compassion.
