Description of
Across the Red Sky: Silicon Valley Murder Book 2
The previous book, Swift Horses Racing, introduced us to Detective James Ruiz of the fictional San Jose suburb of Monte Verde. He continues into this story, now serving as a mentor for a younger detective, Daniela Grasso, who discovers the body of a Silicon Valley titan while on her morning jog. What ensues is a gripping tale of twists and turns as the two police officers try to find the woman’s murderer. Reminiscent of Agatha Christie, Kazarian offers us an array of suspects, each with his or her own very good reason for wanting the victim dead. Along the way, we readers get glimpses of the intense competition among a class of people we used to call Yuppies, now using their upper-atmosphere educational credentials to dominate the business world. On a level closer to where we normal humans live, we also see the agonizing drip-drip of a marriage leaking into the drain.
