Description of
The Goodbye Witch (Wishcraft Mystery Book 4)
It's such a great read, y'all, and utterly satisfying, with its arsenal of strong character development, surprisingly potent emotional beats, and a loverly sense of family. I admire how adeptly Blake inserts the magical aspects into Darcy's investigation, but also that Darcy relies on her brains more than on magic. As well, I appreciate that Darcy's wish-granting ability isn't ever overused in these stories as that can get old quick. Darcy comes across as such a regular and very relatable person I loved that. It's as if Samantha Stephens is solving crimes, only substitute the nose-twitching with the eye-twitching. I finished the last page and immediately clicked the purchase button for the three books preceding The Goodbye Witch and the book following it. And, yeah, those others are all marvelous reads... but they're no The Goodbye Witch. My hanky was not threatened once.
