Description of
40 Wickedly White Chocolate Recipes: Carpe Cocoa, Seize the Chocolate - It's National White Chocolate Day!
It’s official, September 22nd is National White Chocolate Day. Created in Switzerland nearly 90 years ago, in 1930, white chocolate wasn’t officially classed as chocolate at all because it doesn’t contain cocoa solids. In 2004, a decade after chocolate manufacturers filed their first petition, the US Food and Drug Administration finally welcomed the creamy confection into the chocolate family. It must though, in order to qualify, contain a minimum of 20 percent cocoa butter. At least 14 percent total milk solids and contain no less than 3 ? percent milk fat. In addition to this, it can’t consist of any more than 55 percent carbohydrate sweetener. Our 40 wickedly white chocolate recipes are sure to delight chocoholics. White chocolate is ideal for wickedly tempting candies and treats, creamy cookies and cakes, decadent desserts and puddings, and of course, boozy beverages. A good quality white chocolate is the star of the show in so many different recipes. You can combine it with whiskey and milk to create a boozy milkshake. Add it to tiramisu to give an iconic Italian dessert a makeover or use it as a dip for fresh strawberries. Carpe Cocoa, Seize the Chocolate: It’s time to celebrate National White Chocolate Day.
