This book is for all of the math-o-phobes out there! My goal is to show the reader, that math is not only important, but it's also directly applicable in our daily lives. I tried to approach this task from a (mostly) non-math direction, which translates to very few actual equations and deer in the headlights inducing explanations! Whether I succeeded will be for the reader to determine.
If you're a math student, parent to one, or just want gto et a feel for what math can really do for you, give it a try. Theorems, laws and short snippets concerning where they came from, are scattered throughout these pages. You might be surprised (I hope pleasantly) as to how our concept of math came to be what it is today.
To provide a little, background, I'm not a math teacher or some kind of math profit, I'm a working engineer who believes that math gets a bad rap in our schools. This book is my attempt to talk it up a bit. We live in a society that is increasing complex, and frankly needs to become more so. Mark my words, in the coming years and decades, math literacy will determine future success and non-success (I tried to avoid the word failure, since it's probably some sort of trigger?).
We need more math, not less! Have a read and see if you agree...
